all the tech companies are doing it because it is more “socially acceptable” if it makes sense. Normally investors look at growth in terms of employees and in flight projects, but lately the paradigm has shifted slightly to focus on profitable projects and ones that actually make business sense. Therefore companies are given more slack to cut people
